24 August 2023 Prague – As the current Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Prague (ACP), the Philippine Embassy led by Ambassador Eduardo Martin R. Meñez organized the ASEAN Family Day celebration held on 24 August 2023 in Prague. The fun filled day of camaraderie, friendship and culinary exchange was in collaboration with the 5 other ASEAN member states with resident embassies in Prague in namely, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam.

Speaking at the event, ACP Chair Ambassador Eduardo Martin R. Meñez, highlighted the importance of ASEAN Family Day in strengthening the solidarity, cooperation and support among the members of the ASEAN Embassies in Prague. Ambassador Meñez also reaffirmed and acknowledged the determination of the ASEAN Committee in Prague to promote the image and potentials of ASEAN in the Czech Republic.

Held at the official residence of Indonesia in Prague, nearly 100 staff and family members of ASEAN countries in Prague, including the Heads of Mission demonstrated cooperation and team work through singing, dancing and friendly sport competitions introduced by each Embassy.

A gastronomical feast of traditional dishes also added excitement to the fun filled day of camaraderie and friendship as each embassy prepared and served traditional dishes.

ASEAN Family Day is an annual event that aims to promote solidarity and friendship between ASEAN members through cultural, sport and culinary exchanges. END
