POREČ in Prague

Poreč and its tourist and food service were the center of a ceremony held on Wednesday, May 11. in Prague, in Villa Pellé in the city center, organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia, the Croatian Tourist Board and the friendly district of Prague 6. This district of the Czech capital and the city of Porec-Parenzo signed a friendship agreement exactly ten years ago and regularly develop business, cultural and social relations and the opportunity to present Poreč at this ceremony is another building block in fruitful cooperation.

The guests were welcomed by the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to the Czech Republic, Her Excellency Ljiljana Pancirov, and the Deputy Mayor of Poreč, Elio Štifanić. Subsequently, Nenad Velenik, Director of the Poreč Tourist Association and Morena Mičetić Fabić, Director of the Poreč Business Incubation Department and Director of the Poreč Business Incubation Department, presented the tourist and economic potential of Poreč. The presentation of the gastronomy offer was in charge of the professional chef Stanislav Poropat in cooperation with the restaurant Chorvatský Mlýn in Prague.
Ambassador Ljiljana Pancirov recalled that cooperation between the Czech Republic and Croatia in the field of tourism began at the end of the 19th century, when the first Czech tourists came to the Adriatic, and added that she believed that good cooperation in the field of tourism between the two countries would continue this year.
In addition to promotional picture catalogs and printed matter, Poreč presented guests with videos and promotional materials, and the gastronomic offer included renowned Istrian delicacies – from prosciutto, cheese, wine and cod to pasta and truffles.
