Prague 1 Tram Line to Undergo Repairs, Affecting 12 Tram Lines: Service Disruptions Expected

The Prague 1 tram line, which stretches from Jindřišská to Lazarská, is set to undergo crucial repair work, impacting a total of 12 tram lines. This maintenance operation is scheduled to commence on Monday, October 30, and is expected to be completed by November 10. During this period, residents and commuters in the city center will need to rely on alternative transportation options such as the metro or walking, as the affected section will feature special tram stops at Dlážděná and Lazarská.

To minimize disruptions and facilitate the repair work, tram lines passing through the affected section will be redirected to alternative routes or divided into different line numbers. Here is a breakdown of the changes:

  1. Line 3: It will be diverted from Bílá labuť to Lazarská via Náměstí Republiky, Staroměstská, and Národní třída.
  2. Line 5: It will be split into two parts. Starting from Slivenec, it will be rerouted from Jiráskovo náměstí to Národní divadlo, Lazarská, and then continue its regular route back towards Slivenec. Additionally, the section from Vozovny Žižkov will be shortened from Hlavní nádraží to Dlážděná, Masarykovo nádraží, and then continue as Line 24 towards Vozovna Kobylisy.
  3. Line 6: It will be split into two parts. Commencing from Kubánské náměstí, it will be truncated to Lazarská and then continue as Line 9 towards Sídliště Řepy. Starting from Vysočanská, it will be cut short to Masarykovo nádraží, from where it will proceed as Line 9.
  4. Line 9: Similar to Line 5, Line 9 will be divided into two segments. From Sídliště Řepy, it will be shortened to Lazarská and then continue as Line 6 towards Kubánské náměstí or Line 14 towards Spořilov. From Spojovací, it will be rerouted from Hlavní nádraží to Dlážděná, Masarykovo nádraží, and then continue as Line 6 towards Vysočanská or Line 14 towards Vozovna Kobylisy.
  5. Line 14: Line 14 will also be divided into two parts. Departing from Spořilova, it will be cut short to Lazarská and then proceed as Line 9 towards Sídliště Řepy. Starting from Vozovna Kobylisy, it will be shortened to Masarykovo nádraží, from where it will continue as Line 9.
  6. Line 24: This line will be shortened from Vozovna Kobylisy to Masarykovo nádraží, and its route will continue as Line 5.

Additionally, these changes will impact night tram lines, specifically lines 91, 92, 94, 95, 96, 98, and the historical Line 42.

Commuters and residents are advised to plan their journeys accordingly, considering these temporary disruptions in tram services, and make use of the alternative transportation options available during the repair period.
