Prague Forum 2023 advances global sustainability
Prague, 14 September 2023 (TDI): The 2023 Prague Forum on the Economic and Environmental Dimension of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) is scheduled to commence on September 14th and 15th.
This event will be hosted by the OSCE 2023 Chairpersonship of North Macedonia, highlighting critical issues with severe impacts on our global community.
The primary goal is to foster an engaging, interactive, and focused discussion that allows for the exchange of national experiences, lessons learned, and peer reviews of OSCE commitments.
The Forum will be a diverse gathering, bringing together delegates from governmental and state institutions, the private sector, academia, civil society, and international organizations. The anticipated outcome is the generation of concrete and feasible recommendations for the OSCE and its participating States.
Under the compelling theme, “Promoting security and stability in the OSCE area through achieving sustainable development, and resilient and inclusive economic growth,” this forum builds upon the discussions initiated at the 2023 Struga Conference on the Economic & Environmental Dimension of the OSCE. It serves as a natural progression of those important conversations.
In the upcoming forum, several key topics will take center stage. Firstly, there’s a profound recognition of the urgency surrounding “Climate Change Challenges”.
Moreover, the forum acknowledges the pressing need for global efforts to combat the effects of climate change and emphasizes the importance of fostering international cooperation to address this critical issue.
Secondly, the discussion will spotlight the crucial role of “Good Governance and Anti-Corruption”. It will underscore the crucial role of ethical governance practices and the ongoing battle against corruption as central pillars in the endeavor to foster stability and development.
Thirdly, the forum will explore the intricacies of “Trade and Transport Facilitation” as essential components for enhancing sustainable development and ensuring food security. It will delve into ways to improve trade and transport mechanisms to achieve these vital goals.
Lastly, the event will place a distinct emphasis on the critical issue of “Disaster Risk Management.”
It underscores the vital role disaster preparedness plays in ensuring the safety and resilience of communities across the globe.
By focusing on security, stability, sustainable development, and inclusive growth, the 2023 Prague Forum aims to chart a path toward a more secure, equitable, and resilient world.
