President Petr Pavel has voiced his approval of the recent agreement between the Ministry of Health and protesting doctors, highlighting the importance of addressing the challenges in the healthcare system. The agreement, which addresses doctors’ concerns regarding overworking, proposes a salary increase ranging from 5,000 to 15,000 crowns per month based on their educational level. Additionally, other hospital employees can anticipate a five percent raise.

During his visit to the Hradec Králové region on Tuesday, President Pavel expressed his support for the agreement but emphasized that it should not be viewed as a comprehensive systemic solution. While the salary adjustments represent a positive step, he underscored the need for a broader discussion on issues such as the education system for doctors, overtime policies, and the equilibrium between professional and administrative responsibilities carried by medical professionals.
