Respiratory infections rising in Czech Republic

The Czech Republic is currently experiencing an increase in respiratory infections, with the number of cases rising to 2,343 per 100,000 inhabitants last week, according to the Ministry of Health. The infections include influenza, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and SARS-CoV-2.

The number of infections rose by 33.6% compared to the previous week. The Ministry of Health has said that the current situation can be described as an ongoing influenza epidemic, with an increase in morbidity in all regions and all age groups. Two areas in the country where infections have not yet reached epidemic levels are Prague and the South Bohemian Region.
