Executive Insights

Ryanair’s Jason McGuinness, speaking in Prague, made the following remarks:

“With the addition of a fourth based aircraft in Prague for the upcoming winter season, Ryanair has successfully restored pre-Covid traffic levels to Prague Airport. Nevertheless, Prague and the broader Czech capacity recovery are trailing behind other European regions that have either regained or expanded their pre-COVID traffic, primarily due to the reduction of airport charges and the implementation of competitive incentive programs. As the leading carrier, Ryanair is committed to supporting the swift recovery of Czech connectivity and tourism. However, this can only be achieved through competitive airport charges.

Ryanair is delighted to offer increased choice and lower fares to customers and visitors in Prague for the Winter 23/24 season. Our network comprises 27 routes, including six exciting new destinations such as Catania, East Midlands, Gdańsk, Malaga, Seville, and Tirana. Additionally, we’ve enhanced flight frequencies on 12 existing routes, encompassing popular winter sun and city break destinations like Barcelona, Budapest, Dublin, Madrid, Manchester, Paris, and Rome.

To facilitate this dynamic Winter schedule, we’ve introduced a new aircraft, bringing the total number of aircraft based in Prague to four. This $400 million investment has generated 30 new local jobs. Ryanair remains committed to fostering connectivity, inbound tourism, and employment opportunities for Prague.”
