Secretary General Marija Pejčinović Burić has met with the President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel.

The exchange of views underlined the impact of the Fourth Summit of Heads of State and Government setting up an ambitious path to strengthen democratic security, put an end to democratic backsliding and respond to new challenges.

Marija Pejčinović Burić emphasised the Organisation’s support to Ukraine highlighting the relevance of the Council of Europe Action Plan for Ukraine for 2023-2026.

The Register of Damage Caused by the Aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, as a necessary component of an international compensation mechanism, was also on the agenda.
