In the opening statement, Frantisek Čupr hinted at future goals:

“We are fully aware that we are in a new season. The title shot is over. Starting with zero. We all enjoyed the title, but now we have a lot of hard work to do. We can’t sleep on our laurels, but we’re going to fight. Betano’s offer is a commitment for us. I believe the collaboration will be a success. It is an innovative company. We want to be innovative, too. Our fans can look forward to, for example, a half-time competition for a million kroner. A major change is that the Betana logo will appear on the A-team of both men and women or on the training equipment. This is an essential collaboration for the club. Our goal is to play in the Champions League. Everyone in Sparta lives for this purpose. I believe we can do this.”

Brian Priske said at a pre-season press conference: “Everyone on the roster has a chance to get into the starting lineup. We are satisfied with how the players have adapted to our way of playing. We have a team with very good discipline. I believe that very soon we will be satisfied with our game and the results.”
