St. Martin arrives in the fog with an umbrella

The Czech Republic expects typical November weather, with low clouds prevailing in the coming week. A cold front will arrive in the middle of St. Martin’s week, and umbrellas will be needed, meteorologist Dagmar Honsová said.

“The influence of high pressure on our weather during St. Martin’s week will be interrupted by a cold front on Wednesday and Thursday, so we need umbrellas. However, by the end of the week, there will be more places with all-day fog and low clouds. The mountains will be clear or partly cloudy by Friday. We are looking at typical November weather,” said Honsová.

It will be cloudy to partly cloudy in Bohemia, cloudy in Moravia and Silesia, and showery in places on Monday morning. Partly cloudy skies should prevail during the afternoon, but fog or low clouds will start to form in the evening. Afternoon temperatures will be between 10 and 15 degrees.

Partly cloudy skies are expected on Tuesday. Occasional fog or low clouds will appear in the morning and afternoon. In the afternoon and evening, frontal clouds will increase from the west, bringing rain or showers in some places. Morning temperatures will drop to 2 degrees, with daytime temperatures between 11 and 15 degrees.

Wednesday will bring cloudy to overcast skies, with showers or rain in some places. Morning temperatures will drop to 8 to 4 degrees. Daytime highs will climb to 10 to 14.

Thursday will be cloudy to overcast, with showers or rain in some places early in the day. The clouds will gradually recede, and precipitation should also cease. Morning temperatures will cool to 8 to 4 degrees, with daytime temperatures rising to 10 to 14 degrees.

Typical autumn low clouds and fog should return Friday and over the weekend. In the mountains and some places at lower elevations, the inversion may break through to become partly cloudy or clear. Morning temperatures will be between 6 and 2 degrees. Daytime temperatures will climb to 9 and 13 degrees but will only stay around six degrees with continued low clouds.
