Prague prize for the winner of the 30th Annual Auto of the Year award in the Czech Republic. Second time

The Mercedes-Benz car has become one in history, the new E-Class building on the success of the model SLS AMG from 2011. Expert jury of 20 leading Czech motoring journalists representing wide range of readers, viewers and listeners chose the overall winner of the poll from the five finalists. jurors, in the case of the second BMW 5-Series, there were six jurors. It was evenly balanced on the next positions – the third, fourth and fifth cars were separated by just 12 points. And that it’s the judges they did not have it easy at all, as evidenced by the fact that only three of them gave in their choice to one of the cars a maximum of 10 points.

The choice system replicates the choice model of the European Cars of the Year, which also chooses exclusively expert panel in two-round mode. Auto of the Year 2024 in the Czech Republic was up for grabs a total of 21 cars newly introduced to the Czech market in 2023. Jurors took into account in their choice a variety of attributes – technical innovation and technological maturity of the car, safety, impact on environmental and traffic economy, driving characteristics, value-for-price ratio, design, comfort or performance – with technical levels being the main factors in the assessment innovation and gained value for money.
