The Future of a Free Press in Central and Eastern Europe

On November 8 the Aspen Institute Central Europe and Aspen Digital have co-organized “The Future of a Free Press in Central and Eastern Europe”  event in Prague.  The guests have been welcomed by Milan Vašina, Executive Director of the Aspen Institute CE, and Vivian Schiller, Executive Director of Aspen Digital.  Afterwards the U.S. Ambassador to the EU H.E. Mark Gitenstein has offered a speech stressing the importance of Democracy.

Several prominent journalists and top representatives of the media sector discussed the main challenges brought by disinformation and lack of freedom of expression in certain countries.
