This event commemorates the discovery of Americas by Cristopher Columbus, happened on the 12th October 1492. Besides this anniversary, the 12th October celebrates also the Spanish language day, the Feasts of Our Lady of the Pillar and the Virgin of Zapopan, as well as the Day of the Spanish Armed Forces. It is a day with a plurality of meanings and it is strongly felt in Spain and beyond.
