The opera singer Stefan Margita presented his new album

The opera singer Stefan Margita presented 26. 10. 2023  to media representatives his new album Rež, rež, rež, which contains twelve folk songs from Bohemia, Moray and Slovakia. She penned it at her theatre, Lucy the White. The album will be released officially as early as October 27, 2023 by Supraphon on CD, LP and digitally. The idea to make an album with folk songs was born after a performance by Štefan Margita at a concert tribute to Karl Gott at the O2 arena, where he sang the Slovak folk song Išel Macek do Malacek. The audience was thrilled with his temperamental and distinctive interpretation, which could link operatic technique to folklore. Margita, on the basis of this unexpectedly large acclaim, decided to return to his musical roots and choose the most beautiful folk songs from different parts of the Czech-Slovak territory.
Stefan Margita doesn’t just want to leave his album on the carrier, but he also wants to present it live to his audience. That’s why he’s going on a special concert tour called Rež, rež, rež, where he’ll present the album in conjunction with symphony orchestras. The tour will begin in March 2024 and will visit Zlín, Pardubice, Teplice and other cities.
