The state is preparing more “boiler” subsidies

The Ministry of the Environment wants to offer more money to regions later this year to continue the boiler subsidy program.

The ministry announced the first call in February, and the first applications started to be accepted in May. The receipt of applications in the first call ended on August 31. The sum of thousands of applications for the grant exceeded CZK 2.5 billion.

According to the ministry, nearly 17,000 low-income households applied for a gas boiler purchased or ordered by the end of April.

Up to 140,000 CZK

Initially, solid-fuel boilers not meeting the parameters of at least emission class 3 were to be banned from September. However, the deadline for their use in family homes was extended by an amendment to the Air Protection Act until the end of August 2024.

“The current call for boiler subsidies for low-income households has ended, but we still have the New Green Savings Programme running. We are adding CZK 35,000 to CZK 140,000 for purchasing a biomass boiler or heat pump. In addition, we would like to announce another call for regions in November so that the boiler subsidies for low-income households can continue again,” said Environment Minister Anna Hubáčková (KDU-ČSL).
