Unpredictable Weather: Temperature Swings and Showers Expected in the Czech Republic this Week

Meteorologist Dagmar Honsová predicts a week of erratic weather in the Czech Republic, with temperature fluctuations and frequent showers reminiscent of April. The week will start with tropical temperatures on Monday, but a cold front will pass through, bringing precipitation and strong winds. Although temperatures ideal for water activities will return later in the week, thunderstorms will remain a concern.

Honsová explains that on Monday, a cold front will approach from the west in the afternoon, resulting in thunderstorms mainly in the western and northwestern regions. These thunderstorms will be accompanied by winds reaching speeds of 70 to 80 km/h, with expected precipitation amounts around 15 mm. Honsová further adds that more thunderstorms can be expected from Friday.

Monday will be the warmest day of the week, with afternoon temperatures ranging between 26 and 30 °C and possibly reaching up to 32 °C in Polabí and the western parts of the country.

Tuesday will start mostly clear to partly cloudy in the morning, but scattered showers, rain, and occasional thunderstorms are anticipated in the afternoon and evening. Morning temperatures will range from 16 to 12 °C, while afternoon temperatures will be between 20 and 24 °C.

Wednesday will also be cloudy, with scattered showers or rain in some areas. Morning temperatures will drop to 14-10 °C, and afternoon temperatures will hover between 20 and 24 °C.

Thursday will see the return of summer temperatures, with mostly clear to partly cloudy skies and occasional scattered showers or thunderstorms. Morning temperatures will range from 14 to 10 °C, and afternoon temperatures will reach 23-27 °C.

Friday will not be exempt from isolated showers or thunderstorms. The sky will be partly clear and temporarily cloudy throughout the day. Morning temperatures will rise to 16-12 °C, and in the afternoon, temperatures will range between 26 and 30 °C.

The upcoming weekend will be marked by thunderstorms. Both Saturday and Sunday will be partly clear to cloudy, with scattered showers or thunderstorms expected in some areas. Morning temperatures will range from 14 to 10 °C, while afternoon temperatures will remain slightly below 30 °C, ranging from 25 to 29 °C.

To make the most of your summer days in the Czech Republic, it is recommended to stay informed about the latest weather updates as conditions may change rapidly.
