V4 Summit to Take Place in Bratislava, Czech President Zeman also Set to Come

Bratislava/Prague, September 23 (TASR-correspondent) – A presidential summit of the Visegrad Four (V4) countries (the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia) will take place in Bratislava on October 11, with Czech President Milos Zeman also personally attending the meeting organised by Slovakia, TASR was told by head of the Czech Presidential Office’s international department Rudolf Jindrak on Friday. The summit will be thematically divided into two blocks. In one of them, the heads of state will deal with the security situation in Ukraine and related foreign policy. In the second block, they will discuss energy and energy self-sufficiency. “These are two topics that President [Zuzana] Caputova proposed, and we, of course, agree with that,” said Jindrak. Although Hungary’s position on the current war is in some aspects different from the position of the remaining countries in the grouping, Jindrak doesn’t expect that there should be disputes between the presidents. “I don’t expect that there will be any quarrel or dispute, but there may be a slightly different view from Hungary. But we’re democrats and this discussion is for us to say any different things to each other,” added the Czech Presidential Office’s international department head.
