Warm and Sunny Weather Expected in the Czech Republic for the Second Half of September

The Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (ČHMÚ) has released its long-term forecast for the period from September 18 to October 15, predicting warm and sunny weather for the second half of September.

Meteorologists expect an Indian summer weather pattern in the first and second weeks, with above-average temperatures exceeding 20°C and occasionally reaching over 25°C in lowland areas. Nighttime temperatures are forecasted to be around 11°C on average. While some cooler periods are expected towards the end of the current week and occasionally in valleys, significant cooling is anticipated only towards the end of the month.

Monday saw temperatures reaching the thirties in some places, with a temperature of 30.9 degrees recorded in Tuhani. However, it is unlikely that temperatures will reach such highs again this year. The warmest day for the rest of the week is expected to be Thursday, with temperatures reaching up to 28 degrees.

In terms of precipitation, meteorologists anticipate an average period. This week is expected to bring several short episodes of local rainfall, with occasional rain showers and even thunderstorms occurring on cold fronts. The last week of September is expected to be drier, with more significant and widespread rainfall likely arriving around the turn of the month.

The monthly forecast provides an overall characterization of the weather but does not encompass all possible fluctuations. The success rate of temperature predictions is approximately 75 percent, while for precipitation, it is about 65 percent. The forecast for the third and fourth weeks often aligns with long-term climatic values for the respective periods.

This forecast indicates that residents and visitors to the Czech Republic can look forward to pleasant and warm weather for the remainder of September, with the possibility of cooler temperatures and more rainfall towards the end of the month.
