Czech Republic to Experience Cooler Weather Until Mid-June, Says CHMI

The Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (CHMI) has provided a long-term outlook indicating that the warm temperatures experienced in recent days are unlikely to return until mid-June. According to meteorologists, daily temperatures in the coming weeks will range between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius.

In the first week of the forecast (May 22-28), relatively cooler weather is expected, with average minimum nightly temperatures around 8°C and maximum daytime temperatures around 20°C. However, Monday saw very high temperatures, reaching 29.2 degrees in Doks, located in the Česká Lípa region. Although temperatures above 25 degrees are still expected in the eastern part of the country on Tuesday, they will gradually cool down. By Wednesday, temperatures will struggle to reach 20 degrees.

From May 29 to June 18, the CHMI predicts that temperatures will become warmer, with daily temperatures averaging around 23 degrees Celsius and nightly temperatures around 10 degrees.

In terms of rainfall, minimal precipitation is expected this week, with more anticipated during the week of June 5-11.

The CHMI emphasizes that the long-term outlook is not a weather forecast, but rather a probabilistic trend indicating the expected development during the upcoming period. It provides valuable information to help individuals and organizations make informed decisions based on the general weather patterns anticipated.

As the Czech Republic enters the summer season, the CHMI’s outlook serves as a guide for planning outdoor activities, agricultural practices, and other weather-dependent endeavors. While the weather is subject to change and specific forecasts closer to the date should be consulted, the CHMI’s insights provide valuable context for the expected weather conditions over the next few weeks.
