Czech startup Nebesys has emerged as the global champion of the Creative Business Cup 2023. The highly anticipated global finals of the competition were held in Copenhagen, Denmark, on June 5th, where innovative startups from around the world vied for support and investment for their business ventures. Nebesys secured its place in the competition by winning the national round organized by the CzechInvest agency in March.

Petr Očko, the senior director of the digitization and innovation section of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, expressed his delight at the victory, stating, “It is great news for all of us that such interesting, creative, and innovative solutions are being born in our country.” He also emphasized the importance of winning the competition, as it will provide Nebesys with invaluable support for growth and expansion into new markets, serving as a model for future startup applicants.

CzechInvest actively supports creative startups through its Technological Incubation project, considering them a key area of focus. The other finalists of the competition showcased diverse ventures, including sustainable textile materials and digital platforms. However, Nebesys stood out to the jury due to the uniqueness and sophistication of its product, ultimately securing the victory. As the global champion, Nebesys will receive a comprehensive package of business services, mentoring, and access to financial resources from partners, investors, and professional mentors. They will also become part of the Creative Business Investors program, facilitating networking opportunities with potential partners and investors throughout the next year.

Zuzana Ambrožová, the creative director of Nebesys, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to represent the Czech Republic and praised the collaborative efforts of the entire Nebesys team. She expressed optimism for the future, aiming to bring numerous innovative projects to life and enhance the lives of many individuals.

Nebesys specializes in an innovative project that brings the sky into interiors, offering breathtaking views of urban and natural landscapes. Their product utilizes natural diffused light, known as skylight, to prevent overheating and the formation of heat islands, while incorporating water cooling and rain capture. Nebesys envisions fully energy self-sufficient roofs in the future.

The Creative Business Cup competition focuses on startups in creative industries such as design, electronics, software, computer games, fashion, architecture, advertising, film, photography, gastronomy, leisure activities, toys, music, and audiovisuals. The jury evaluates not only the creative value of the product or service but also its potential to thrive in international competition and achieve global success. Nebesys’s triumph highlights the Czech Republic’s capacity to generate groundbreaking ideas and reinforces the country’s creative prowess on a global stage.
