Embassy Festival Food & Culture 2026 – The World Meets in Prague
On 6 June 2026, Prague’s Vítězné náměstí once again became a vibrant meeting place for cultures from around the globe during the Embassy Festival Food & Culture 2026. Thousands of visitors gathered throughout the day to sample authentic cuisine, discover international traditions and meet representatives of dozens of diplomatic missions based in the Czech capital.
The Embassy Festival has become one of the Czech Republic’s largest international cultural and culinary events. Organized by the Farmářské trhy association in close cooperation with Prague 6, the festival was created to bring diplomacy closer to the public through food, music and cultural exchange. Although first launched about a decade ago, one edition was cancelled during the COVID-19 pandemic, making the 2026 event the ninth edition of the festival.
What makes the Embassy Festival unique is the direct participation of embassies, honorary consulates and international organizations. Rather than relying solely on commercial vendors, many national stands are operated or supported by embassy staff themselves. Visitors therefore enjoy not only authentic national dishes but also personal conversations with diplomats and members of the international community.
In 2026, more than sixty countries participated, representing Europe, Asia, Africa, North and South America and the Middle East. Embassies from Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Austria, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Peru, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Ghana and many other nations presented their culinary traditions and cultural heritage.
The festival officially opened in the late morning with representatives of participating embassies, Prague 6 and the organizers. Throughout the day, two performance stages featured music, dance and folklore from around the world, while family activities and educational programmes created an attractive atmosphere for visitors of all ages.
The event has grown into much more than a food festival. It represents a successful form of public diplomacy, encouraging intercultural dialogue, friendship and mutual understanding. Diplomats, entrepreneurs, students, tourists and Prague residents met in an informal environment where conversations often began over traditional food and continued with discussions about culture, travel and international cooperation.
Children enjoyed dedicated activity areas, while Prague 6’s partner cities also introduced visitors to their regions. The traditional farmers’ market running alongside the festival added another dimension by combining Czech local products with international cuisine.
The Embassy Festival Food & Culture has become a symbol of Prague’s international character and its thriving diplomatic community. Once again, the 2026 edition demonstrated that food, culture and personal encounters remain among the most effective ways of building bridges between nations.
