From Saturday, trams will not run through Lesser Town

Prague’s tram service will be temporarily disrupted from January 28 to March 31 as the transport company replaces the tracks between Újezd and Malostranská Street. The reconstruction, which has been planned for 21 years, will be divided into four stages and is expected to result in a significantly quieter operation.

During this time, tram lines 12, 15, 20, 22, 23, 42, 97, and bus line 194 will run along detour routes. A replacement bus service, X22, will run between Újezd and Malostranské náměstí from January 28 to February 15 and a replacement bus service, X20, will run between Malostranské náměstí and Malostranská Square from February 16 to March 31. Detour routes for drivers have been published by Prague 1.
