Motorists in the Czech Republic have received good news as fuel prices at gas stations have experienced a recent decline. According to the CCS, a company responsible for monitoring fuel prices, the average cost of the popular gasoline variant Natural 95 has dropped by 31 haléřs, reaching 36.52 Kč per liter. Diesel prices have also seen a significant decrease, with an average of 31.13 Kč per liter. These figures represent a considerable drop of 61 haléřs compared to the previous week and mark the lowest fuel prices since July 2021.

The downward trend in gasoline prices began earlier this year, with prices exceeding 37.70 Kč per liter in early February. Since then, the average price of gasoline has continued to decline, reaching nearly 37.90 Kč per liter about a month ago. Comparing the current prices with those from a year ago, it is evident that Natural 95 was approximately 8.30 Kč more expensive per liter at that time, while diesel costs nearly half of its present value.

Fuel prices vary across different regions of the country. Drivers in the South Bohemian Region currently enjoy the most affordable fuel prices, with gasoline averaging 36.11 Kč per liter and diesel priced at 30.26 Kč per liter. On the other hand, gas stations in Prague consistently maintain the highest prices in the region, with an average cost of 37.42 Kč per liter for Natural 95 and 33.04 Kč per liter for diesel.

The decline in fuel prices is welcome news for drivers as it helps reduce their transportation expenses.
