Gasoline Prices Rise while Diesel Prices Drop in the Czech Republic

Over the past week, gasoline prices have increased while diesel prices have decreased in the Czech Republic. According to CCS, the company responsible for monitoring fuel prices, the current average price for a liter of Natural 95 gasoline at fuel stations is 37.63 CZK, an increase of 36 haulers from last week. In contrast, the diesel price decreased by 36 haulers, with the current average price at 34.44 CZK per liter.

These price fluctuations can be attributed to various factors, such as global oil prices and exchange rates. In the Czech Republic, gasoline is now 5.21 CZK cheaper per liter compared to last year, while diesel was almost 11 CZK more expensive per liter. This significant difference in prices can be traced back to the impact of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which heavily affected fuel prices in the spring of last year.

The cheapest gasoline can be found in the Ústí nad Labem Region, with an average price of 37.21 CZK per liter. Meanwhile, diesel is the cheapest in the South Bohemian Region, selling for an average of 33.58 CZK per liter. In Prague, gasoline is the most expensive, with an average price of 38.68 CZK per liter, while diesel is sold for 36.80 CZK per liter.

It’s worth noting that fuel prices in the Czech Republic are subject to various factors, including fluctuations in global oil prices and exchange rates, which can lead to significant changes in prices over time. Therefore, it is important for consumers to stay informed and compare prices across different fuel stations to find the best deals.

Overall, the recent increase in gasoline prices and decrease in diesel prices in the Czech Republic may have an impact on consumers and businesses that rely on these fuels. However, it is expected that prices will continue to fluctuate in response to global and local market conditions.
