How to Spend 3 Days Exploring Prague, Czech Republic
Meet Bleetary, a Zimbabwean travel blogger based in Finland. A versatile traveler who loves exploring various travel styles, she enjoys a range of experiences, from budget solo adventures and group trips to indulgent luxury stays and baecations. In June, she visited Prague, Czech Republic on a solo trip, spending three nights in the European city.
“Prague is an ideal travel destination due to its rich history, stunning architecture and vibrant culture,” Bleetary told Travel Noire. “What I liked most about the city was the seamless blend of old-world charm and modern cosmopolitan vibes, making every corner a picturesque delight.”
During her time in the city, she stayed at A & O Prague, which she considers a fantastic accommodation choice for budget travelers seeking comfort and convenience. She booked a double room that ensured her a cozy and affordable stay without compromising on quality.
“With its friendly staff, excellent amenities and strategic location about 2.3 km from the city, A & O Prague provides a comfortable base to explore the city without breaking the bank,” she said.
One of the highlights of her trip was a medieval five-course dinner. This immersive experience transported her back in time with a delightful feast and captivating performances. Another memorable activity she enjoyed was a vintage car city tour.
“I felt like royalty as I explored the city’s historic landmarks in style,” she said. “Both activities added a touch of magic and made my time in Prague truly unforgettable.”
Here’s her full three-day itinerary of things to do in Prague, Czech Republic.
Day 1: Exploring Prague’s Highlights
Start your Prague adventure with a vintage old car ride city tour, a fantastic way to soak in the city’s charm. She booked this delightful tour through Get Your Guide, which made the whole experience seamless. They also provided pick-up from her hotel.
After the tour, she headed to the Dancing Building, also known as the Fred and Ginger House. This architectural gem stands out with its curvy, unconventional design. It’s a must-visit for architecture enthusiasts and offers fantastic photo opportunities.
To unwind, she made my way to Café Chloe. It is a cozy café with a warm ambiance. She ate red velvet cake and sipped on fragrant Czech coffee, while soaking up the relaxed atmosphere.
Day 2: Immerse in History and Culture
In the morning, she ventured to the Book Library. She described the “vast collection and tranquil atmosphere” as the perfect environment for browsing or delving into a good book.
For an extraordinary evening, she dined at a medieval experience that she booked through Get Your Guide. The experience transported her back in time. She had a “delectable feast” and was entertained by medieval performers.
A trip to Prague is complete without exploring Prague Castle. The magnificent complex that towers over the city was her next stop. The intricate architecture, stunning views and deep-rooted history make it a must-see attraction.
Day 3: Hidden Gems and Cultural Delights
She sought out the Bubble Point View, which is a hidden gem offering breathtaking panoramic vistas of Prague’s skyline. It’s a serene spot to soak in the beauty of the city and capture some incredible photos.
Afterward, she went to St. Vitus Cathedral, located within the Prague Castle complex. It took six centuries to complete, and its stunning stained glass windows depict biblical scenes. The Gothic architecture and intricate stained glass windows left her in awe of the craftsmanship. She described it as a “spiritual and architectural masterpiece that should not be missed.”
Tips for Visiting Prague
Bleetary recommends that travelers keep some cash on hand while in Prague. She also suggests combining a trip to Prague with visits to neighboring Vienna and Budapest.
“The bus or train rides are three hours or less,” she said. “It is much cheaper for people who are doing Europe tours. It saves you airport hustles and provides great views along the journey.”
To get around within the city, Bleetary says a combination of Uber, walking and riding the public trams works well.
“Uber is so affordable there,” she explained. “The trams are [also] cheap and interesting to use if you are interested in seeing more rather than being taken from one point to the other. Most tourist sites are pretty close to each other, so walk and discover hidden gems.”
