Iconic Hotel Myslivna in Brno to Make Way for a 2 Billion CZK “Nová Myslivna” Project

Hotel Myslivna, a once-iconic establishment in Brno renowned for its luxury, is set to undergo demolition, making way for a grand redevelopment project named “Nová Myslivna.” With an estimated budget of 2 billion CZK, the Nová Myslivna complex is slated to emerge by spring 2026, marking the end of an era and the beginning of a modern, multi-functional space.

The decision to demolish the Hotel Myslivna stems from its poor structural condition, as revealed by Miroslav Gebas of Gebas Atelier Architekts, the architectural office behind the Nová Myslivna project. The aged hotel, a three-star accommodation, was constructed five decades ago on the site of a tourist restaurant bearing the same name. Although designed by architect Jan Dvořák, the structure did not attain heritage protection status. Over the years, it hosted significant congresses and welcomed numerous notable figures, including former prime ministers.

Nová Myslivna aims to seamlessly blend residential and public spaces in a new six-story structure. The project will encompass a hotel section and a separate area with 90 apartments, ensuring a dynamic and integrated environment. An adjoining restaurant, offering breathtaking views of Špilberk Castle, the cathedral on Petrov, and other prominent landmarks in Brno, will enhance the appeal of the development.

While freely drawing inspiration from the original design by Jan Dvořák, the creators of Nová Myslivna emphasize a modern approach, incorporating the latest technologies. The redevelopment project pays homage to the historic significance of Hotel Myslivna while embracing a forward-looking vision for the future. One notable feature is the preservation of the interpreter booths, harkening back to the original Myslivna’s role as a congress center for international events. As the construction progresses, Nová Myslivna promises to become a contemporary landmark in Brno, seamlessly marrying history with innovation.
