NH Collection Prague Carlo IV Welcomes a New General Manager
The NH Collection Prague Carlo IV is pleased to announce that Martin Žídek was appointed as the new hotel’s General Manager as of September 1, 2022.
Martin Žídek is a seasoned hotel professional who brings with him a wealth of experience from Marriott and Hilton hotel companies as well as the private sector.
Prior to joining NH Hotel Group, Martin was the Hospitality Project Manager & Owner’s representative, for the W Prague hotel, a luxury lifestyle hotel managed by Marriott International scheduled to open in 2023. Here he was responsible for the implementation of W brand design and operational standards of the whole project as well as handling all contractual relationships. Before that, Martin was general manager of the Courtyard by Marriott Prague City between 2015 – 2021 and general manager of the luxury Art Nouveau Palace hotel.
Martin Žídek has almost 30 years of professional experience in the hotel industry and a successful career, which commenced at the Hotel School in Poděbrady. He started as a waiter in Germany and gained further experience at the Hilton Hotel in Sydney, Australia. Gradually he worked his way up to senior management positions in leading international hotels. In 2004, he worked as Sales Director at Hilton Prague and then as Sales Director at Marriott International, where he was responsible for launching the Courtyard by Marriott brand on the Czech market and opening its first three hotels. After a two-year stint as Sales and Marketing Director at the Warsaw Marriott in Poland, he returned to the Czech Republic and became Cluster Sales Director of all Marriott International hotels in the Czech Republic.
With his in-depth knowledge, business acumen and team management skills, Martin is a great asset to the NH Group and an ideal addition to the NH Collection Prague Carlo IV hotel.
