Some 100 Businesspeople to Accompany Lower House Head to Taiwan

A delegation of around 100 Czech businesspeople will be visiting Taiwan in March, accompanied by Marketa Pekarova Adamova, the chairwoman of the Czech lower house. According to the Confederation of Industry and the Czech-Taiwanese Business Chamber, this is the largest delegation ever to visit Taiwan. The mission will be made up of representatives from firms working in fields such as nanotechnology, e-mobility, healthcare innovations, artificial intelligence, circular economy, information and communication technology, and energy.

Half of the businesspeople in the delegation will also accompany Pekarova Adamova on her visit to South Korea. The attendance was recommended to firms that already have partnerships in both countries and wish to support these connections, as well as start-ups and those who want to learn about these markets. The Czech entrepreneurs will be able to build on previous visits, such as that of Senate chairman Milos Vystrcil in 2020.

The Czech-Taiwanese Business Chamber will organise events within the delegation, such as the PopUp Store in Taipei, where firms engaging in healthy lifestyles, design clothing, toys, cosmetics, and diet can test the local market’s potential. The Smart City Summit & Expo fair will also be a part of the programme, focusing on smart healthcare, artificial intelligence, education, green energies, and circular economies.

On March 28, the Czech-Taiwanese Business Chamber, in cooperation with the European Values Centre for Security policy, will inaugurate the Czech hub in Taipei. During this event, the Czech lower house head will introduce Czech brands and products to the local market.

This visit to Taiwan shows the continued growth of the Czech Republic’s business and economic ties with Taiwan. By sending such a large delegation, the Czech Republic is signaling its commitment to furthering these connections. The delegation will provide an opportunity for Czech firms to explore the Taiwanese market and strengthen existing partnerships. The events organized by the Czech-Taiwanese Business Chamber will help Czech entrepreneurs showcase their products and services to potential Taiwanese partners.
