The bailiff fined Miloš Zeman 20,000 crowns

Czech President Miloš Zeman faces a CZK 20,000 ($1,000) fine imposed by a bailiff, according to the lawyer of Zdeněk Šarapatka, who claimed that Zeman should apologize for his statement regarding Šarapatka’s competence. The Supreme Court has postponed the enforcement of the judgment and halted the execution, but the decision to impose the fine was made prior to the appeal.

Šarapatka has questioned whether the fine will be paid by the presidential office or legal services, as Zeman is considered a private individual in this dispute. Until the Supreme Court’s decision, Zeman is not required to apologize.
