The second year of the “The Price of War’ symposium was held in London

The symposium was organised by the CERGE-EI Foundation and the online news portal REACTION, with partners including the Embassy of the Czech Republic in London, the Czech Centre London and the Czech glass company Lasvit. The conference was opened by Ambassador Marie Chatardová and the founder of CERGE-EI, Columbia University economist Professor Jan Švejnar, who then took part in one of the panels. Other speakers included Professor Peter Frankopan of Oxford University, former UK Ambassador to Ukraine Melinda Simmons DCMG, Professor Beata Javorcik of the EBRD, former CIA Director General David Patreaus, Professor Yuriy Gorodinchenko of the University of California, Berkeley, and Professor Sir Lawrence Freedman, Emeritus Professor of War Studies at King’s College London.
