The state is not counting on the completion of D3 through a PPP project

The Czech Republic government has decided not to build the Central Bohemian section of the D3 motorway using a public-private partnership (PPP) model due to the risk of appeals and lawsuits by opponents of the route.

Transport Minister Martin Kupka said that, while the government plans to use PPPs in other construction projects, it will not do so for the D3 motorway. Kupka said that the Ministry of Transport and the Regional Directorate of Transport expect appeals or lawsuits against each stage of the decision.

The D3 motorway is intended to connect Prague with Ceske Budejovice and the Austrian border, and the Central Bohemian section should be 58.5 km long.
