Waste processing plant in Bishkek: Protocol signed with Czech company

The Czech consortium of companies HDT Impex s.r.o. and ReGreen s.r.o. are set to construct a waste processing plant in Bishkek, the capital city of Kyrgyzstan. The plant, which is expected to cost $45 million, will be used to process municipal waste, construction waste, waste from hazardous production, and medical facilities. The Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Kyrgyzstan, Marat Dzhaanbaev, made the announcement during a press conference after signing a protocol of intent for cooperation with the City Hall of Bishkek.

The project will be implemented in three phases. The first phase involves the development of a regulatory framework and the adoption of a law on garbage, which must be completed by June 1. The second phase involves the development of a feasibility study, which is expected to be completed by August 1. The morphology of waste plays an important role in the feasibility study, as the project must first solve the issue of municipal waste from the population. Finally, an investment agreement is expected to be concluded by October 15, which will kick-start the construction of the plant.

The waste processing plant is expected to address the problem of municipal waste in Bishkek, which has been a long-standing issue for the city. Currently, waste is collected and dumped in landfills, leading to environmental and health hazards. The plant will not only provide a solution to this problem, but it will also create jobs and opportunities for the local population.

The Czech consortium of companies has experience in constructing and operating waste processing plants in several countries, including Ukraine, Belarus, and Serbia. They are committed to using the latest technologies and best practices to ensure the efficient and sustainable operation of the plant. This will not only benefit the local community but also contribute to the global effort to combat climate change.

The project is part of the broader effort by the Kyrgyz government to modernize and develop the country’s infrastructure. The government has been encouraging foreign investment and has implemented several reforms to improve the business climate. The Czech consortium of companies is just one of several foreign investors who have expressed interest in investing in the country’s economy.

Overall, the construction of the waste processing plant in Bishkek is a positive development for both the local community and the global environment. It demonstrates the potential for foreign investment to contribute to sustainable development and highlights the importance of finding innovative solutions to pressing environmental issues.
