Czech Republic training Libyan doctors discussed as part of ‘‘Medovac’’ agreement

The Libyan Health Ministry reported that Deputy Prime Minister and Acting Minister of Health, Ramadan Abu Janah, met with the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Libya, Jan Visital, and his accompanying delegation to discuss potential areas of cooperation between the two countries. One of the main topics of discussion was the “Medovac” draft agreement, which will be signed between the Libyan Ministry of Health and the Czech Military Hospital. The agreement aims to train Libyan doctors through the Emergency Medicine and Support Centre.

During the meeting, they also discussed other potential areas of cooperation, including the exchange of experiences and training in emergency medicine, orthopedics, and neurosurgery, as well as the implementation of programs for visiting doctors to perform surgeries in Libya and facilitating the granting of visas for Libyan patients. They also spoke about strengthening cooperation in supplying medical equipment for physiotherapy treatment.

The Czech Ambassador expressed his country’s desire to strengthen relations with Libya in various fields and to strengthen cooperation agreements between the Libyan and Czech Ministries of Health. He also invited the Minister of Health to visit the Czech Ministry of Health and medical universities in the Czech Republic to discuss signing joint cooperation agreements.

The Health Minister welcomed the Ambassador and his delegation and emphasized the close relations between the two countries. He also confirmed that the Libyan Ministry of Health welcomes cooperation in the health sector in accordance with the procedures and laws in force in Libya.
