Details: With a transfer in Chop, the journey from Prague to Kyiv will take approximately 22 hours, with options with sleepers or seats, as well as separate sleeper compartments for women and children.

Departures from Chop or Prague take place in the afternoon, and the expected journey time is around 13 hours. The wagons from Chop will run as part of the 18-car train travelling from Prague to Košice.

Ticket prices range from €18.9 to €67.9, including meals.

In an interview with the Interfax-Ukraine news agency, RegioJet owner Radim Jančura said the Chop-Prague route will feature 3 cars with 140 seats, including 80 sleepers and 60 seats.

Jančura explained that RegioJet will generate revenue from transportation but will pay Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways) for access to its infrastructure.

In October, it was reported that the Czech transport company Regiojet was planning to open a new direct rail link between the Polish city of Przemyśl bordering Ukraine and Hannover (Germany).

  • On 3 September, a new train from Ukraine to Poland started running on the Kyiv-Chełm route.
