Embajada del Perú en República Checa
In the framework of activities around the ski competition Jizerská 50 on February 10, was held in the Liberec region, the tribute to the 15 Czech mountaineers killed in the snowy Huascarán by an avalanche of snow, generated by the earthquake of May 31 from 1970.
The commemoration ceremony of the LIII anniversary of the tragedy featured the presence of local authorities from the Liberec region and the widows of the deceased mountaineers. Ambassador Nestor Popolizio uttered a few words to the bereaved and placed a floral offering at the monument in memory of the Czech mountaineers who lost their lives on that occasion.
