V severním Jutsku se totiž vyskytuje fascinující jev. Jedná se o obří migrující písečné duny, které jsou vlastně největší v severní Evropě a pohybují se o 15 metrů ročně.

Ve stejné oblasti se nachází i takzvaný “kostel pohřbený v písku”. Migrace písku se ke kostelu dostala v 18. století, což vedlo k tomu, že byl kostel téměř celý zasypán. Dneska tak z kostela vidíte pouze věž!

A desert in Denmark? Well, not technically, but it’s pretty close!

In Northern Jutland, there is a fascinating phenomenon. It is a giant migrating set of sand dunes, actually the largest in Northern Europe, moving 15 metres per year.

In the same area, the so-called “sand-buried church” is found. The sand migration reached the church and lead to the church almost being completely covered. Today, only the tower of the church is visible!
