🎼✨On this day in 1961, the great Czech conductor Václav Talich died, who still represents an important bond between 🇨🇿 and 🇸🇮.
🎶 Talich studied at the Prague Conservatory, where he graduated in 1903. As a musician and conductor he worked in many cities, namely Odessa, Tbilisi, Prague and Ljubljana. At the invitation of Music Mother Ljubljana Talich worked in Slovenia between 1908 and 1912. He is best known as the first conductor of the Slovenian philharmonic. In Ljubljana he also conducted opera shows in the Country Theater, founded a string quartet and was the first chapel in the Opera in 1909 and 1912. During that time, he contributed significantly to the expansion of music activity in the city and raising its standard. Besides his professional path, Slovenia marked his personal life as well, he was married to 🇸🇮 pianist Vida Prelesnik 🎹.
