In Jablonec, the area of the Sun Spa at the Mšeno Dam burned down

The causes and extent of the damage are unknown to the firefighters. The buildings from 1927 were in bad condition, and for several years there have been discussions in the town about whether to reconstruct the historical buildings or demolish them and build modern buildings.

“We are responding in Jablonec nad Nisou in Mšeno to a fire in a wooden building of a refreshment restaurant near the Jablonec dam. With the help of five streams of water, we have located the fire. At the moment, the building structures are being dismantled and extinguished,” the firefighters reported on Twitter on Wednesday morning.

The fire on the dam’s banks was reported to the operations center at around 4:45 am. “The first unit was there ten minutes before five o’clock. By then, the fire was already on the full scale. Around 5:30 was the localization,” described the intervention of the spokesman of the Fire Rescue Corps of the Liberec Region, David Kořínek.

The firefighters took water from a nearby dam and also removed propane bottles from the building. “Two dragon boats were rescued,” said the spokesman.
