Meteorologists warned of strong winds

Strong winds will hit the Czech Republic in the coming days. Winds from the southwest will gust to around 70 kilometers per hour.

According to the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (ČHMÚ), strong winds will hit the western half of Bohemia, northeastern Moravia, and Silesia on Wednesday afternoon. The warning will then extend to other areas in the evening.

From Wednesday noon, the warning will apply to Prague, Karlovy Vary, Pilsen, Ústí nad Labem, Moravia-Silesia, and parts of Olomouc, Central Bohemia, and South Bohemia.

From 8 pm, it will expand to the Highlands, Pardubice, the rest of South Bohemia, and parts of Liberec, Hradec Kralove, South Moravia, and Olomouc regions.

The winds are expected to die down on Thursday afternoon.
