Mrs Hana Ludikar passed away

We are sad to inform you that on August 5 2023, Mrs Hana Ludikar passed away.

She was the daughter of Ladislav and Jana (Hana) Feierabend and was born on October 3, 1929. Her father served as the Minister of Finance in the Czechoslovak Government-in-Exile in London during World War II, while her mother and other family members were interned in a concentration camp, so she resided with her maternal grandparents.

After the communist takeover, she and her parents left Czechoslovakia and migrated to Britain in 1948. She wed Marcel Ludikar, a war veteran who had just rejoined the RAF, in 1949. They had three children, Helena, Pete, and Philip, between 1951 and 1961. Hana received her German degree from the London University in 1967 and continued to instruct French and German until 1982. Hana frequently traveled to the Czech Republic following the Velvet Revolution. As part of the British Czech and Slovak Association’s calendar of activities, Hana gave an enlightening discussion about her father and the Czechoslovak Government-in-Exile in January 2019 at the Czech Embassy in London.
