Philippine Chargé d’affaires Indhira C. Bañares met with Member of Parliament Romana Fischerova, Head of the Czech – Philippines Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, at the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic in Prague on 19 January 2022.

The two officials discussed mutual cooperation in education, health care, and agriculture between the Philippines and the Czech Republic.

In the Philippines, food security is a top priority of the Government of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., who is also the concurrent Secretary of Agriculture. In the Czech Republic, more health care professionals, particularly nurses and dentists, are urgently needed.

CDA Bañares and MP Fischerova also talked about the upcoming celebration of the 50th anniversary of the formal establishment of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and the Czech Republic. END.
