Taiwan and Czech Republic sign science, education, and culture agreements

Taiwan and the Czech Republic have signed a number of memorandums on cooperation in the areas of science, education and culture. The signing took place during a ceremony at the foreign ministry on Friday.

Czech Senator Jiří Drahoš, who is leading a delegation of Czech parliamentarians visiting Taiwan, signed on behalf of the Czech Republic. Drahoš is the chair of the Czech Senate’s Committee on Education, Science, Culture, Human Rights and Petitions.

Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Alexander Yui represented Taiwan at the signing ceremony. Yui said that the agreements allow for broad cooperation between the two countries and are an important milestone for bilateral relations. He said that the memorandums can elevate Taiwan-Czech relations to new levels.
