Zeman will meet Fiala on Tuesday, Jiří Ovčáček, the spokesman of the Castle, confirmed

President Miloš Zeman will receive Prime Minister Petr Fiala (ODS) at the castle in Lány on Tuesday evening. The date of the regular meeting was confirmed by the spokesman of the Castle, Jiří Ovčáček. Zeman and Fiala last met in Lány at the end of August.

On Sunday, the president said he wanted to talk to Fiala about his reservations about some ministers. He recently said he would recommend replacing six of them.

They are also likely to discuss the draft state budget for next year. They could also discuss developments in the war in Ukraine and measures to counter high energy prices or the results of the weekend’s elections for municipal councils and a third of the Senate.

Zeman said on Sunday that he would not press the prime minister on the cabinet reshuffle but wanted to discuss it with him.

In an interview with Mladá fronta DNES on Monday, he said he would replace Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský (Pirates), Finance Minister Zbyněk Stanjura (ODS), Industry and Trade Minister Jozef Sikel (STAN), Interior Minister Vít Rakušan (STAN), Environment Minister Anna Hubáčková (KDU-ČSL) and Science, Research and Innovation Minister Helena Langšádlová (TOP 09).
